FAQ's on Gifting and Sponsorship

Question: Whom do we gift?
Answer: Children in institutions caring for the physically, mentally, socially and economically challenged! 9 years ago the Chrysallis Performance Arts Centre for the Challenged initiated a unique gifting programme - 'Gift a child at Christmas'. Christmas with Chrysallis 2000 – was our first Christmas party with 1000 children from Since then the numbers have grown - Christmas with Chrysalis 2008 – celebrates with 25,000 children across the challenged communities.
Question: What do we gift?
Answer: A gender neutral gift of the value of Rs.25/-. We believe that it is not the value of the gift which matters, but the love with which it is given. A gift makes a child feel wanted, loved and cared for!
The gifter needs to purchase a new item for gifting not to exceed the value Rs.25/-. Care to be taken that the gifts are not sharp-edged, color-safe. Some examples: Stationery, soft toys, books (in English and Regional Language), Socks, Slippers, Scarves, Bandanas … any other
Question: How do we wrap the gift?
Answer: Wrap the gift with a lot of love! Your gift will bring a smile on a child's face. You may put a small note for the child before wrapping it.
Once the gift is wrapped it should be labeled with the Standard of the child to be gifted. Example - Child studying in Standard III.
Question: Where do we deliver the gifts?
Answer: The gifts may be consigned to Diana Tholoor, 19 Hutchins Road, St. Thomas Town, Bangalore - 560 084. Contact number : 080-65739341 / 9886112230 / 9449816581
For those interested in gifting in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad - kindly contact the City Co-ordinators whose details are available at http://xmaswithchrysallis.
Question: What if I cant buy a gift? Can I sponsor the gifts?
Answer: Yes. You make out a cheque in the name of Chrysallis Performance Arts Centre and courier this to us. To make transfers contact: Diana Tholoor at: diana.tholoor@gmail.com
Question: What else can we sponsor?
Answer: You can sponsor a child to attend the Christmas Party at

The Chrysallis Power of One - Know Your Special Friend
The first leg of the Journey
God Does Mighty Miracles
– He brings us together and makes the impossible – possible!
What does it mean to set out on a journey of different cities for the first time without ever having been there?
What does it mean to have a group of people whom you have never met before - who have worked hard and long for you to create a powerful and life changing event?
It means that each one of us has the power to motivate and inspire and do things which seem nearly impossible.
9 cities - Bangalore, Pondicherry, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata and Guwahati - South, North, Central and East India - a wonderful medley of children's voices from each city illustrating on posters the meaning of 'Integration' and 'Special Friendship"
1500 children with and without challenges - working together with joy - taking back with them the knowledge that they belong to the same world and to each other
100s of Volunteers - undergoing a life changing experience with the commitment to work longer and harder to make inclusive education a reality.“This is the first time I am meeting a woman coming alone – to a new city – and, conducting such a well organized programme with so much meaning”- Special Educator, Guwahati
The ‘Power of One’ is a reality,
To all of you who were with us in mind, body and spirit - thank you for your participation, thank you for caring, thank you for praying.
Our journey continues with the nationwide Chrysallis Power of One Exhibitions and the Chrysallis Volunteer Bike Ride.
On March 3, 2007 I stepped out in Faith - I thank God for the many blessings He has brought to every programme.
Remember us in your prayers as we set out again on a more daunting task.
